Community Gardening Program

Cornell Cooperative Extension volunteers are helping Thea Bowman House Children create community gardens that brighten our inner city neighborhoods.

Our children have planted and harvested gardens in:

  • the Utica Public Library

  • Sculpture Space

  • Our own Thea Bowman House playgrounds

Harvested food is distributed to those in need through the Thea Bowman House food pantry.

Special thanks go to our friends at Cornell under the direction of master gardeners Joan Gorton and Sue Kimball and their faithful volunteers!
